The Weeknd's 'final' album Hurry Up Tomorrow heading for Number 1

Hurry Up Tomorrow is the culmination of a three album trilogy - and Abel Tesfaye's prospective last release as The Weeknd.

The ‘final’ album by US pop superstar The Weeknd is pacing for a Number 1 debut in the UK this week.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is Abel Tesfaye’s sixth studio album and, if we take him at his word, his final record under The Weeknd moniker. The self-described ‘gothic’ and ‘operatic’ LP serves as the conclusion of a loose trilogy of albums, comprising 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM, both former UK Number 1 albums.

Hurry Up Tomorrow would become The Weeknd’s fourth UK Number 1 album; following 2015’s Beauty Behind The Madness and the aforementioned After Hours and Dawn FM.

Friday could be a landmark day for English electronic duo Maribou State, who are on the cusp of achieving their first-ever UK Top 10 album, Hallucinating Love (3). Overall, it’s the fourth record from Chris Davids and Liam Ivory, who previously claimed a Top 40 album with 2018’s Kingdoms In Colour (25).

English alt-pop singer RØRY could see her debut studio album RESTORATION debut at Number 4 in the UK, looking to become the singer, songwriter and producer claim the first Top 10 record of her career.

Kim Wilde could earn her third UK Top 10 album (and first in 37 years) with Closer (6). It functions as a sequel record to her most successful LP, 1988’s Close (which is, coincidentally enough, her last Top 10 album to date).
