Billy Joel Continues to Fill 2025 Calendar, With Sting, Nicks, Rod

Though his historic residency at Madison Square Garden ended on July 25, 2024, Billy Joel continues to perform concerts roughly twice per month. Joel, born May 9, 1949, played one show per month at The Garden since January 2014, not counting the 2020 and 2021 postponements, an unprecedented run. And though he no longer tours, the Piano Man has announced a slew of concerts in 2025, many of which are stadium dates with Sting, Stevie Nicks and Rod Stewart (separately). In January, he announced dates with Rod Stewart at Yankee Stadium for July 18 and in

Cincinnati on September 20. And on February 6, Joel revealed that he’ll be playing Citi Field, home of the New York Mets on August 21, with Sting. That followed the earlier news of a show in Pittsburgh with Stewart on July 5 as well as his first outdoor show in East Rutherford, NJ, since 1994 when he and Nicks will perform at Metlife Stadium on August 8. Joel is thus performing at all three of the New York metropolitan area’s major outdoor facilities over the same summer. Tickets are available here. (A pre-sale for the Citi Field show begins on Feb. 10; tickets for the general public go on sale on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.)

Joel’s iconic concerts at the original Yankee Stadium on June 22-23, 1990, are remembered in the concert film, “Billy Joel Live from Yankee Stadium.” He will make music history again as the first musical act to perform at both the original and the new Yankee Stadium. It’ll be his first concert at the home of the Mets since 2008. Sting will be making his first appearance there as a solo act; he performed at Shea Stadium with the Police in 1983.
